Milk Production Genetics

Milk Production Genetics (MPG) are unique corn hybrids that have been specifically developed for milk production.  They possess dense, high sugar stalks, and soft kernels packed with high yielding digestible starch.  This combination of traits produces high yielding digestible starch also reduces the amount of additional grain in the ration.  Helping you improve the bottom line.

Industry Leading Performance...

Not only are customers raving about the performance of Masters Choice corn hybrids, but University and Industry trials are also demonstrating the ability of MPG hybrids to produce high quality silage.

- 1st Place in the 2006 Canadian Grain Trials. MC-530 was the highest yielding variety out of 25 hybrid varieties at 225.4 bu/acre.
- 2006 Penn State/PDMP Silage Trials MC 590 produces 2nd highest Milk/ton with excellent yield!
- Mc 530 grown by Silver Star Holsteins, Withee, WI placed 9th in the 2006 Forage Super Bowl    Non-BMR Corn Silage Division.

A difference you can see...

Master Choice MPG corn hybrids are high in 5-Carbon sugars, the thick syrupy sugar contained in the hemicellulose portion of the NDF.  This results in higher NDF digestibility and energy than conventional corn silage.  As you can see in the picture below, MPG stalks are packed with more digestible nutrients.

Efficient rumen performance

Rapidly fermentable starch and dense digestible fiber along with the high sugar content of Master's Choice MPG corn silage help create and ideal VFA (volatile fatty acid) profile in your cows rumen.  This results in an improved absorption, enhanced animal performance and reduced purchased grain.

Digestible Starch

Kernals from Masters Choice corn Hybrids are packed with digestible starch.  This starch is digested effiecntly producing much needed energy, while the yellow crystalline starch found in industry leading corn hybrids is discarded in the manure.  For more information about digestible starch, or what makes Masters Choice special, feel free to call us or send an email.
